In response to the urgent threats to the state of American democracy and the regression of fundamental rights, we focus on defending democracy and advancing reproductive rights, health, and justice in the United States. Our grantmaking prioritizes support for leading national and local organizations who partner with and/or are led by communities most impacted by rights violations. Internationally, we provide support for human rights defenders in Latin America.
Advancing Reproductive Health, Rights, and Justice
To challenge the regression on abortion rights in the United States and protect access to comprehensive reproductive health care, we partner with organizations that engage in legal and issue focused advocacy, provide and facilitate access to health care, and organize and support communities to take action.
To advance a fair, representative democratic system that is rooted in justice and accountability, we support organizations working to promote civic participation, ensure election integrity, and combat voter suppression.
Supporting Human Rights Defenders in Latin America
To support activists facing both risk and opportunity in Latin America, we work with organizations providing legal assistance, emergency grants, advocacy, capacity strengthening, accompaniment, networks, and other support to human rights defenders, with a particular focus on Central America.
As the only Latina-led Reproductive Justice organization in Colorado, COLOR ensures that every Coloradan has the right to lead safe, healthy, self-sustaining lives.
Why has COLOR been so successful in protecting reproductive freedom?
COLOR invests in advocacy, organizing, policy, and educational efforts to ensure the Latinx community brings their voice to the decisions being made about their reproductive freedoms and autonomy. We recognize that our presence in decision-making spaces is necessary for positive change to happen for all Latinos in our state.
