Sarah Barnaby (she/her) is the Senior Program Associate for Overbrook’s Human Rights program, contributing to all stages of the portfolio’s grantmaking. Sarah also provides support for teams across the Foundation, including communications, events, and other operations. Sarah joined The Overbrook Foundation as a Program Associate in 2022.
Prior to joining The Overbrook Foundation, Sarah supported social impact initiatives at a New York City-based boutique consultancy. During her time consulting, Sarah provided strategic advisory and operations support to philanthropic prizes and collaborative funds at the intersection of nonprofit, government, and philanthropic sectors. Sarah contributed to a range of national projects focused on social innovation, the environment, equitable economic recovery, and more. Her time consulting was informed by experience in corporate social responsibility at Tripadvisor, as well as Boston community grantmaking at the Fish Family Foundation.
At Northeastern University, Sarah earned an M.A. in Political Science, concentrating in Public Policy. She also graduated magna cum laude from Northeastern’s University Honors Program with a B.A. in Political Science and International Affairs. Sarah lives in Brooklyn, NY, where she is often found reading a good book or catching some of New York City’s incredible live music.
