Building an Inclusive Democracy: A Conversation on Reproductive Health, Rights, and Justice

April 26, 2024

Democracy and Reproductive Health, Rights and Justice were on the agenda at the Funders’ Committee for Civic Participation convening in Phoenix, Arizona on April 17th. Dusti Gurule (President & CEO of COLOR), Moné Holder (Senior Director of Advocacy & Programs at Florida Rising), and Lourdes Rivera (President of Pregnancy Justice) joined in conversation to explore the ways in which movement leaders are working to secure bodily autonomy and reproductive health, rights, and justice as part of the effort to build and protect an inclusive democracy.

The Overbrook Foundation was proud to support this session in partnership with the Ford Foundation. Overbrook’s Risa Kaufman was privileged to moderate the panel, ‘Safeguarding Our Democracy Through Reproductive Health, Rights, and Justice,’ in which these leaders amplified attention to this critical intersection. The panel tackled issues including pregnancy criminalization and voter education/mobilization. Thanks to the panelists, FCCP, Ford, and all those who attended for a vibrant and inspiring session.
