Sophie Parson

Special Assistant to the President

Sophie Parson is the Special Assistant to the President at The Overbrook Foundation. She supports the President and team across a range of priorities, including scheduling, meeting preparation, communications, and coordination with internal and external partners. Her work helps ensure alignment, clarity, and follow-through across the Foundation’s activities.

Sophie brings experience from fast-paced, international environments, including her most recent role at the European Union Delegation to the United Nations in New York. There, she supported the Ambassador through complex scheduling, high-level meetings, and major convenings, including the United Nations General Assembly, and handled protocol and security for the highest levels of EU leadership. Known for anticipating needs, managing competing priorities, and building strong, trusted relationships, she is warm, reliable, and resourceful, and knows when to step forward and when to work quietly behind the scenes.

Her multicultural background is shaped by living and working across New York, Brussels, Rome, and Paris. She studied film in Paris, where she spent hours in art house cinemas watching old classics, then moved to Rome, where she learned Italian and embraced la dolce vita, before beginning her career in Brussels. Fluent in English, French, and Italian, her work spans executive support, communications, event coordination, and creative production. She lives in Jackson Heights, Queens, with her husband, Fred, who works in governmental affairs out of Brussels, while her son, Jude, is based in Manhattan, working in recruitment and making the most of city life.
